I am proud to say that we are one of the very few accounts in the twin states to be able to offer Harpoon Leviathan IPA on draft. For those who are unfamiliar, this is an extremely aggresive IPA with a high abv. This beer is not for the weak! So come on in and try a pint and take a look at our new menu while you’re at it….

It’s time again for Chef Battis to stir things up and crank out some new great items. Chef has brought back one favorite of last fall and winter, the Beet and Goat Cheese dish, but this time he’s done it a little different. It’s still delicious as ever! Come on in and check out our new menu, I know you’ll be satisfied!!
Travel and Leisure (AMEX Mag) just announced that our gourmet burger is one of the top 10 in the country. Thank Chef Battis. We have very tasty food ……right down to basic cooking…as in the burger. Chef has a unique way of putting interesting tastes together!!!Bravo. Check out our site to see who we are rubbing shoulders with. Great list!!
It is nice to win something when you least expect it…………..
Cmon down!!
I was just musing this AM as I walked to the hardware store for a dimmer switch. Close Main St to traffic between Wheelock and the post office. Create lots of seating and store front accessability.
Make downtown a happening place as exists on Hanover Days. Any thoughts? We need to have more fun around here and the cross traffic now is almost unbearable. Concerts in the Summer. Street shows! College pulpits. Magicians. A little Quincy Market around here would liven the image and mindset of down town.
I think I’ll run for Mayor!! (Ceremonial at best)
Fun!!
I’m on a diet (annual Spring rite of passage) but Chef Brent is not helping. He wants me to try all the specials…….and man are they tasty. Yesterday Day Boat Diver Scallops…..today Scituate Yellow Flounder with incredible sides and sauces. I’m having a competition with none other than the now decade famous Liam McCarthy and Manager Tom Rice to see who can lose the most weight (% of weight lost) in three months. Try doing that in a total food environment. My theory on the specials is that both Liam and Tom are paying Chef to keep me plump. It will not work as I am resolute in my much neede mission.Anyway……come on down to weight watchers central and check out our specials so that there are none left to tempt me!!!!!!!

March Madness is here…..but so still is winter madness. 23degrees at 9am this morning. OUCH! We really need to move out of winter which has become as dreary as the daily bad US economic news. My theory is that once you eliminate one of these two issues you have moved to only a 50% problem. Perhaps too the warm weather will set the American mindset to shift to spending and unlocking pent up monies…….thus minimizing the negativity around the other 50%. Hence the 50% solution.
Americans really want to ‘BREAK OUT’ and feel good again. We at Murphy’s are doing our part for the break out by being sensitive to the wallets. We’ve noticed that even in this fairly insulated valley that people are really watching what they spend…..as they should. We have kept pricing so that the value you receive is aligned to the reality of this recession.
When one of the two pillars of our economy – Dartmouth- starts cutting back…..the reality that we are connected to the National downturn hits home. But we are Americans…We are optimistic and we believe that better times are just around the corner………after we have made the necessary adjustments as we always seem to do approximately every 8 years…….then we will all simultaneously hit the GO SPEND button!! So…..warm weather and spending……now there is a beautiful cocktail!!! Go go go Mother Nature!! Cheers. Nigel
